The trajectory of the human experience is the result of behaviours, often overlapping , sometimes paradoxical and occasionally predictable. Consequently the factors that influence, shape and modify these behaviours has been the subject of much scrutiny and study over the preceding half of the 20th Century. Yet, despite the intense academic scrutiny , systematic and evidence based behavioural methodologies have been scarcely utilised outside the research world.

However the emergence of interdisciplinary thinking, spearheaded by advances in computer and social sciences ushered a paradigm shift in behavioural science that moved its focus from establishing a root cause of behaviour to understanding the inter sectional often multi-dynamic enablers and barriers to behavioural change.

This outcome focused paradigm shift has resulted in the emergence of multiple behaviour change frameworks that have sought to offer both a theoretical and pragmatic evidence based guideline to interrogating both the factors that drive behaviour change ; while also providing a clear, transparent and measurable guidelines for developing interventions to deliver specific behavioural outcomes at both an organisational and individual level.

These interventions have been used to implement a range of key governmental and social policies across the healthcare, educational, socio-political and economic sectors.

Despite this, Australia has few training providers with the required expertise and skills to train decision makers across the private , NGO and government sectors in this increasingly valuable thinking and acting strategy, which is fast becoming a crucial commodity for 21st century decision making.

Monocle data is excited to introduce a series of training programmes, developed and run by global leaders, aimed at decision makers across all sectors to impart this extremely valuable and timely skillset.
