Team Monocle Data is into its second week of tracking exercise and mood in the buildup to the Blackmores Sydney Running Festival.

The team got together in early August to gather their baseline information and discuss their own experiences in how exercise has profoundly impacted their well-being, and overall mental health.

Meet the team

Adelaine is a Frontend Engineer who loves to travel and is a passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion.

Damian is a Fitness Instructor who conquered the Kokoda Trail in September 2018; that’s 148kms over 10 days, with very little flat ground.

Lesley is a Freelance Sound Producer, Voice Casting and Talent Agent who says exercise has become a part of who she is and that when she doesn’t exercise she gets grumpy!

Monocle Data is honoured to work with Adelaine, Damian and Lesley as they train towards the run. They have been exercising together for some time, are friends, and are great advocates for exercise as a key component toward a happy and healthy lifestyle.

The team will not only be demonstrating the relationship between exercise and mood, but also provide valuable insights for the development of our current research project into exercise as a resilience-building tool for the general population.

We look forward to updating the team’s progress as the weeks draw closer to the main event on 15th September.
